The Pittsburgh Penguins today announced the signing of 2011 second round draft pick Scott Harrington to a three-year entry-level contract.

Harrington, a defenseman out of the OHL, will return to the London Knights to continue his development. His contract will activate once he turns pro.

The 18-year-old defensive defenseman was selected 54th overall by the Penguins, and while promising, Jesse Marshall wrote the following based on his rookie camp camp performance: “Harrington needs to address his mental lapses and continue to work on his skating before this year rounds out.”
