Last night, Matt Cooke found himself on the opposite end of a familiar situation: a high hit. Now it’s time to see if the NHL will act on a questionable hit to a questionable player.

As Cooke carried the puck into the offensive zone during the second period of last night’s game against the Calgary Flames, defenseman Cory Sarich stepped up to make a hit, making full contact with Cooke’s head.

The hit, as seen in the video below, is at the very least questionable. Cooke appears to have protected himself sufficiently, not putting himself in a vulnerable position, but the question is whether Sarich used his elbow or shoulder.

After watching the video, it’s time for you to be the judge. Should Sarich be punished for his hit? If so, in what form and to what extent?
