Moon Suspended Again
The Frontenacs are facing a 2 game stretch sans leading scorer and Penguins prospect Nathan Moon.
Moon was suspended after the March 8th game against the Ottawa 67’s for antagonizing an official and receiving a game misconduct.
Moon was involved in a scrum in front of the net, he was escorted to the box and given a penalty, he began to berate the official and tapped his stick off of the glass as the official skated by. The official then delivered the misconduct penalty to Moon.
The incident, albiet short, begins at 45 seconds of the below video.
But what’s more disturbing is the loss of Frontenacs defenseman and Sharks prospect Taylor Doherty.
Doherty was suspended five games for his high cross check on an Ottawa forward later that same game.
Video of that incident is available at 3:15 of the above video.
The Frontenacs lost their first game without either player in the line-up 5-3 to Sudbury.
This is not the first time that Moon has been suspended for such an offense. He also received a few games last year for swinging his stick near and official in frustration.
Moon leads the Frontenacs back to the playoffs for the first time since his rookie year of the OHL. He currently has 69 (27+42) points in 64 games this season.
