The Niagara Ice Dogs have acquired Penguin prospect Tom Kuhnhackl in a move that will likely help him put up some big numbers playing with some high profile talent.

Kuhnhackl will likely line up with either Freddie Hamilton, late blooming San Jose Sharks prospect (83p in 63gp last year), or dynamic New York Islander prospect Ryan Strome (106p in 65gp).

Regardless of his linemates, the move to Niagara will allow Kuhnhackl to put up some serious points this season.

Windsor, Kuhnhackl’s former team, is now headed for a rebuilding effort after back-to-back Memorial Cup Championships and losing blue chip prospects over past two years like: Ryan Ellis (NSH), Zack Kassian (BUF), Austin Watson (NSH), Richard Panik (TBL), Cam Fowler (ANA), Greg Nemisz (CGY), Adam Henrique (NJ), and uber prospect Taylor Hall (EDM).

Kuhnhackl should be able to improve on his numbers from last season with Niagara. He has 1g 3a and 4p in only 4 games this season. He missed five weeks with a knee injury.
