Tazer vs. Kaner

It’s All-Star time, and there has been plenty to talk about concerning the voting in the Eastern Conference.

Well, let’s forget about the East and look West.

Teammates and supposed buddies Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are battling each other for votes. They have even gone so far as to produce videos to convince fans to give them their votes.

Which video is more convincing?

Tazer….

or Kaner….

You decide.

Sakic out with herniated disk

Joe Sakic will be out of the lineup for at least six weeks because of a herniated disk in his back.

Sakic has only played 15 of the Avalanche’s 24 games this season, missing 9 games due to this back injury and because of an infected tooth. He also missed 38 games last season with an injury that required surgery.

Unfortunately, I think this will be Super Joe’s last year in the NHL. It will be sad to see him go; he’s such a classy guy.

Mason takes top rookie honours

Goalie Steve Mason of the Columbus Blue Jackets was named Rookie of the Month for November.

In eight games last month, he had a 2.09 GAA, a .919 SV%, and two shutouts.

His teammate Derrick Brassard took the award in October.
