Pronger Off the Market? reports that Anaheim GM Bob Murray informed Chris Pronger and his agent that he has no plans to move the defensemen.

—This news plus the news of Tomas Kaberle getting injured tonight, skyrockets the value of Bouwmeester, Kuba, Morris, and even Penguins defensemen Hal Gill, Rob Scuderi, and possibly Phillipe Boucher along with most of the defensemen on the market.

Phoenix Coyotes – Philadelphia Flyers

Pierre LeBrun updates the Derek Morris situation. He said he has been linked to Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington.

He mentions a possible deal between the Flyers and Coyotes as such: Morris and goalie Ilya Bryzgalov to Philly for Joffrey Lupul, Scottie Upshall, and Martin Biron.

—Unlikely due to the fact that Biron has a NTC and would not waive it to go to a non-playoff team.

Canucks joining the Bouwmeester sweeps?

Rumor out of an Ottawa radio station suggests the Canucks have jumped into the sweepstakes for defensemen Jay Bouwmeester.

—Canucks make more sense than the Flyers because they have the necessary cap room to make this deal.

Justin Williams LA-bound?

Tim Wharnsby suggests that the Hurricanes might deal Justin Williams to the Kings.

—Unlikely due to the injury to the fragile forward.

Clemmensen Gone

Rich Chere reports that Devils GM Lamoriello said “We gave Scott Clemmensen our word we’d do whatever is possible,” Lamoriello said. “We said all along if something came about, we’d do it. Saying that, you just don’t give a player away.”

—He’s also been quoted as saying that they will do everything they can to trade the goalie that saved the Devils season… Along with Zach Parise. Sound familiar to Malkin and Conklin?

Neil News

Or non-news.

Dreger reports that Ottawa and Chris Neil remain apart on a new contract and that if Neil is traded he is likely to go to the Sharks, Red Wings, or Rangers.

—Neil will be traded. Rangers are attempting to corner the market on annoying pesky forwards.

Connolly staying?

Dreger reports that contract negotiations have progressed with the talented but fragile Tim Connolly.

The Fourth Period Quick Hits

From TFP so take them for what their worth.

~“12:33am ET – The Penguins, from what we’re hearing here at TFP headquarters, are still very much in the market for another top-line winger. Chris Kunitz has worked out well, but alongside Jordan Staal. With Miro Satan on waivers, the Penguins are hoping he’s picked up so they can free up his salary and add another top-line guy.”

~“10:59pm ET The Leafs have an offer of a second-round pick for Nik Antropov. I’m not sure whether it’s a high or low 2nd.”
