Game 1 Recap: Blackhawks vs. Canucks
Playoff Game 1: Canucks 2 v. Blackhawks 0
Canucks lead the series 1-0.
Chicago slid into that eighth spot despite losing to Detroit in their last game of the regular season. Vancouver won the President’s trophy.
Chicago has defeated Vancouver the past two playoffs, getting the job done in six games both times. Last year of course going on to win Lord Stanley’s Cup. These, plus a plethora of historical meetings brings these two teams to Vancouver tonight. Round one.
Goaltender Roberto Luongo made the saves all night, playing with the solidity that helped the Canucks clinch that number one spot.
The only scoring for the game took place in the first period, and despite some frustrated ending scraples, only five penalties were dealt out throughout regulation.
