Now is the time of year when we hand down the various personal awards. While the Hobey Baker Presentation will certainly trump any award handed out in the next few weeks, we here at Faceoff Factor certainly think our little bundles of recognition carry some weight.
So, it’s time to go conference by conference and award the following honors to one player in each conference – points leader, goal scorer, top defenseman, top goalie, MVP, and freshman of the year.
ATLANTIC HOCKEY
Points Leader: Simon Lambert, Sr., RIT (51 points)
Goal Leader: Matt Smith, Sr. RIT (27 goals)
Top Defenseman: Greg Flynn, Jr., Army (8 goals, 23 assists, 31 points and a +/- of 15)
Top Goalie: Josh Kassel, Jr., Army (1.92 GAA, .925 PCT, 18-10-2)
Freshman of the Year: Erik Peterson, Bentley (16 goals, 11 assists in 35 games)
