A few pieces of information regarding some of the key tournaments early in the year.
First, the Governor’s Cup. In two different articles about Union College’s hockey schedule, both the Troy Record and the Schenectady Daily-Gazette talk about the opponents for the Governor’s Cup, hosted by RPI and Union at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY.
Union and RPI apparently will host Colgate and RPI in the tournament. Thanks to Centre Ice for finding the original articles. That tournament will take place October 24th and 25th.
RPI will also bring in Princeton, Northeastern, and Mercyhurst for their annual RPI Holiday Tournament on November 23rd and 24th. The Engineers will also travel to the Denver Cup in Colorado to play Boston and either Holy Cross or Denver on January 2nd and 3rd.
Union, meanwhile, will head south just after the new year and play in the Tampa Bay Classic, hosted by Notre Dame. The Irish are joined by Minnesota-Duluth and Massachusetts-Lowell for the games on the 2nd and 3rd of January.
Other tournaments are already in the books. A tentative listing:
