The Minnesota Wild and the Houston Aeros of the AHL have a new affiliate club in the ECHL: the Texas Wildcatters.
Tom Lynn, Wild assistant GM for hockey operations and general manager of the Aeros said, “The Wildcatters had a great season last year and we were very happy with the progress of our players there.” Lynn continued saying, “We look forward to continuing and growing our relationship, and our commitment to hockey in the great state of Texas.”
The Wildcatters were the affiliate of the Aeros last season and received nine players from the Aeros preseason roster. Among those players were rookie defensemen Paul Albers and Mike Madill, both of which were voted into the ECHL All-Star Game. Albers was also named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team and was second in voting for the CCM Tacks ECHL Rookie of the Year.
