ECHL teams to switch dates

Two ECHL teams have switched their opening nights because of a scheduling conflict with an arena. The Gwinnett Gladiators and the Pensacola Ice Pilots made the announcement after realizing the problem with the Pensacola Civic Center.

The Gladiators will now be opening the season on Friday, October 19th at Pensacola, and the home opener will be the following night Saturday, October 20th. The original schedule had Gwinnett opening the season on Friday, October 19th at home, then traveling to Pensacola for the Ice Pilots home opener on Saturday, October 20th.

The ECHL’s 20th Anniversary Season will officially open on Oct. 18 when the Wheeling Nailers travel to the Cambria County War Memorial to take on the Johnstown Chiefs.
