Chiefs sign two

The Chiefs have signed two more players, goaltender Kris Mayotte and defenseman Greg Gallagher (press release). Mayotte, a native of Pittsburgh, is entering his third season of pro hockey. He was traded to the Pensacola Ice Pilots from the Fresno Falcons. When the team was dissolved, Mayotte became a free agent. Mayotte is coming off his best season, posting a .901 save percentage and 2.97 GAA.

Greg Gallagher was claimed by the Chiefs off waivers in December of ’07. He was +14 last season with the club, good for third highest on the team. He also had 2 goals and 7 assists in 45 games.

The Chiefs have revealed their marketing campaign for the 2008-2009 season. Johnstown is Chiefstown.

Sean Berkstresser to return

Rookie Sean Berkstresser, fresh out of Robert Morris University, has signed for his first full year with the Nailers (press release). In his 3-year career at RMU, he posted 29 goals and 40 assists over 102 games. At 6’1 and 200 pounds, he’ll provide a physical presence on the offensive line.

Nailers sign Jon Grecu

Jon Grecu, coming off a career best 21 points in 28 games at Dartmouth, has signed with the Nailers (press release).
