For now, things are looking up in Nashville as CBC.ca reported that the group of local businessmen led by David Freeman and Herb Fritch have officially submitted a bid to purchase the Predators earlier this week.

“We’ve signed a confidentiality agreement and we really can’t comment on it,” said Fritch on Thursday so not much else is known at this time about the offer.

What we do know is this, Craig Leipold is entertaining an offer from William Del Biaggio that is reportedly around $190 million after turning down Jim Balsillie’s $238 million bid.

Fritch also went on to say in the article, “I’ve been a season-ticket holder for a number of years and enjoy hockey and the Predators. During hockey season, that’s one of the major things my wife and I look forward to. We’d feel like Nashville was a lot less desirable place if the Predators weren’t around.”

Hopefully this is the end of the ride for Predator fans and not just the top of a hill in the proverbial roller coaster this whole process can be. Having experienced this first-hand as a Penguins’ fan though, I wouldn’t be exchanging high-fives just yet.
