Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Philadelphia Flyers
The In-State rivalry was a heated battle. Philadelphia was desperate to keep pace in the battle for the playoffs. Pittsburgh needed a win to clinch the division and stay atop the East.

Boston Bruins 2 – New Jersey Devils 3 SO
It took a late goal by David Clarkson to get this goal to overtime. Zach Parise scored the only shootout goal in the fourth round to win the game for the Devils. The victory by the Devils kept Pittsburgh from clinching the division, but only temporarily. Pittsburgh would later clinch the division with a victory.

Chad Larose scored a hat-trick to lead the ‘Canes to the victory. The victory gives the Hurricanes a two point lead over the Capitals for the Southeast Division title. Carolina has one game remaining, Washington has two.

Philadelphia Flyers 2 – Pittsburgh Penguins 4
Due to the earlier win by the Devils, it took a win for the Penguins to clinch the Atlantic Division title. The Penguins also put the Flyers in a precarious position. They are still in eighth place in the East, but have only a two point lead over the ninth-place Capitals.

The Presidents’ Trophy is still up for grabs. Detroit has a three point lead over the red-hot Sharks in the race for the most points in the NHL. Chicago has also kept their playoff hopes alive. They trail the eighth place Predtors by 3 points with two games remaining for each team.
