The Pittsburgh Penguins have taken what would seem to be an insurmountable lead in the best-of-seven series, after winning the first three games with a combined score of 13-4. Tonight, the Penguins look to sweep the opening round series against the Ottawa Senators while in enemy territory for the second straight game.
Wednesday’s game had the Penguins a bit on their heels to start, as the Senators were riding a wave of emotion generated by their home crowd as well as the return of their captain, Daniel Alfredsson. It would prove to be of little consequence, as the Penguins once again opened things up with a bang to start the 3rd period.
“It just goes to show the talent on this team, and how quickly we can change a game,” Jordan Staal said to Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Both teams know that if history is any indicator, a comeback for the Senators is highly unlikely, however, that doesn’t mean they will roll over and die. Instead, the will be playing for pride, for a chance, and sometimes, that can be just as, if not more dangerous than playing to win a series.
While speaking to Chuck Finder of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson said, “We’re going to give it everything we have on Wednesday. We have no choice.”

I’d love to see Sydor play tonight. Sit Whitney for a game.

Tonight we must be how you say, all de business wit our game. Discipline and Sacrifice. Puck possession and play wit’in de system.
Wait for de Ottawa to lose control of de emotion again and den take advantage. We must have solid play tonight and de fan must continue de outstanding support.
Also, about Ryan Whitney sitting, did you not read what I say on de faceoff of de factor or in de Pittsburgh papers?
I say he is competing in the defensive zone. One bad play cos’ us de goal, de only goal of game tree. I am not disappointed in de Whitney. He must continue to play his game wit de crisp pass out of de zone. Watch him and concentrate on de good aspeck of his game tonight. Do you tink Sydor can do de tings Whitney can wit de puck when he is on his game? Whitney needs confidence, he has right attitude and sitting him would not benefit his game or de team at dis time. Remember we are playing game four wit a possibility of de sweep.
At dis time we need to focus on de elimination of de opponent not on de criticism of our player. Mistake will happen in de game of hockey. I mean it is play on ice with sticks, razor blades on de feet, and a rubber puck. How can mistake not happen wit des tings and de human element? I like de commercial dat say dat, “everyting change wit de human element.” I tink it de Dow chemical. Maybe if we win I can lobby for commercial cameo, no?
Let us hope tonight der will be a funeral after de game and dat we sweep up de ash of de Ottawa season and bury it,
Michel

Dearest Michel, I’m not complaining about Whitney,I’m just sayin’ Sydor deserves some playing time as well. After we sweep the Sens, we have another round to battle it out over. Keep Sydor on his game as well, give him some ice time. If you heard fans up there in Ottawa, it was ME cheering for our boys. Go pens!

Has there been any word today on whether or not Gary Roberts will be in the line-up tonight?

I was wondering that myself, Justin.

The Pittsburgh Post Gazette “suggests” that Roberts will sit out, as the Pens are doing well, and at his age, Roberts could use the rest for his injury.
Nothing official, tho.

Malone didn’t practice today. That worries me.
