In a must-win game, the Devils scored the first goal. However, the Rangers scored four straight before New Jersey could tickle the twine again. New York got goals from many of their stars, including Jagr, Gomez, Drury, Roszival, and Dubinsky. The Rangers join the Penguins as the only teams to advance to the second round at this point.

Dallas Stars 2 – Anaheim Ducks 5
Jean-Sebastian Giguere made 40 saves to keep the Ducks from being eliminated. Special teams played a big part in this game as the Ducks got two power play goals and were flawless on the penalty kill. Teemu Selanne’s power play goal 48 seconds into the third period turned out to be the game winner.
