GAME OF THE NIGHT
The Canadiens only lead in the game came on the winning goal in overtime. Twice they battled back from deficits to tie the game. Alexei Kovalev’s goal with under a minute left in the third forced overtime. Tom Kostopoulos would score in the first minute of the overtime period to give the Canadiens the first win in the series.

Philadelphia Flyers 3 – Montreal Canadiens 4 OT
Philadelphia started the series on the right foot with two first period goals. Montreal answered back with two in the second, however. The Flyers would reclaim the lead 19 seconds into the third period. With 29 seconds remaining, Alexei Kovalev beat Martin Biron to send the game to overtime. It took the Canadiens only 48 seconds in overtime to earn the win, when Tom Kostopoulos buried a rebound behind Biron. Alexei Kovalev added two goals for the Canadiens.

Colorado Avalanche 3 – Detroit Red Wings 4
After jumping to a 4-1 lead early in the second period, the Avalanche pulled Jose Theodore in favor of Peter Budaj. Theodore was actually sent back to the team hotel because of an illness. Budaj kept the Red Wings off of the board the rest of the night, but the Avalanche could only add two more goals in the second period. Johan Franzen kept up his hot play in the playoffs with two goals and added an assist against the Avalanche.

Dabich – you gotta love how Philly lost too. Mike Richards takes a dumb tripping penalty with a minute left in the 3rd, Carbonneau pulls Carey Price, and then they score the tying goal. I couldn’t stop laughing…I loved it
