GAME OF THE NIGHT

While all the winners tonight improved their series leads to 3-0, Dallas had the most difficult time with it. Sergei Zubov scored early in the third period to tie the game and send it to overtime. Mattias Norstrom scored less than five minutes into the extra period to give the Stars the victory.

Pittsburgh Penguins 5 – New York Rangers 3
Even though the New York Rangers were on their home ice and Henriq Lundqvist guaranteed a victory in Game 3, the Rags could not pull out the win. Penguins fans had been wondering what happened to Malone during the play-offs, as well as hoping Hossa would start burying some of his chances. Malone and Hossa both scored goals, and Evgeni Malkin added two more to set Pens fans at ease.

I have to say one thing…the people who are on Hossa and Malone must not watch the entire game. Those two do EVERYTHING but goal tend. They are both mules when it comes to playing the puck and the body and making hits.
    Go Pens!

I hear nothing negative about Malone. Regarding Hossa, all I hear is that he isn’t worth the big bucks and that he needs to score. To an extent I agree about Hossa.

He isn’t worth the big bucks…to the Penguins. In other words, he is worth it to a team who needs an all-around player with a scoring knack, but to the Penguins, who already have numerous defensive players and numerous playmakers, I am not sure he is worth it.

Additionally, the primary reason he was brought in was to bury Crosby’s passes. Thus far he hasn’t been that effective. Regardless, he has been dominant in all other facets of the game, and I’d make the same trade all over again knowing what I know now.
