Holmstrom back

After missing game 4 with a hamstring injury, Tomas Holmstrom will be back in the lineup and will no doubt park his behind in front of Marc-André Fleury.

Who will win the Conn Smythe?

Detroit is absolutely confident that they will win the Stanley Cup this year – after all, the only team to come back from a 3-1 deficit was the Toronto Maple Leafs 66 years ago. That means there’s plenty of discussion about the Conn Smythe.

Chris Osgood, sporting a league-leading 1.45 GAA in the playoffs, is believed to be the likely recipient, but Helene St. James (and others) believes that Henrik Zetterberg is the front runner. He may not be scoring much in the finals, but he has been doing all the little things that win championships.

Short shifts among keys to success for Red Wings

Mike Babcock felt that his players’ shifts were too long in game 3, which led to their demise. The adjustment was made for game 4, with his top players averaging 44 seconds or less per shift. I would expect more of the same for game 5.

Ashley, Cast my vote for Kronwall (Kronvall). He destroyed the fight in Malkin’s line by absolutely savage hits on Malkin, Malone and Sykora, and won the cup if the Pens don’t recover. If the Pens win, cast my vote for Orpik for exactly the same reason, ask Cleary, Draper and Drake.
