Go-Go Recalled
Alex Goligosky was an emergency recall on Sunday because of Kris Letang attending Luc Bourdon’s funeral.

Hossa Stepping Up As A Leader
Marian Hossa has arguably been the Penguins best player in the Stanley Cup Finals. He leads by example on the ice. He also has recently shown his leadership skills with the media. He discussed the Penguins’ need to relax while on the power play. “We got so many young guys” Hossa said, “and we sometimes try so many things [and wind up] squeezing the sticks really hard. We just have to relax and play with more confidence.”

Ice Time
Recently, the media has taken to criticizing Michel Therrien for not giving his stars enough ice time. Some have even suggested giving Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin time on the penalty kill. Therrien does not seem willing to allow that to happen. “When we kill penalties, our No. 1 goal is to kill the penalty.” Therrien said.

Justin, Why would you call up a player to replace a player who was going to sit anyway? It makes no sense. He is being called up to be available because another defenseman is at best questionable or because he is to start for a slower defenseman without puck handling and exit passing ability. Goligoski is a fast skating, offensively aware talent with good vision for puck distribution.

Justin, I just saw a “Where’s Waldo” game entitled “Where’s Evgeni.” Everyone seems to be wondering what happened to Malkin, Sykora and Malone. What’s wrong with the Malkin line. It seems crystal clear to me that what’s wrong is Niklas Kronwall (Kronvall). Early on he put savage open ice hits on each of them. Now they’re hearing footsteps. None of them is playing with the aggressive abandon they did in the first two rounds. Richards may have tenderized Malkin earlier. If the three don’t get over it, the Pens will lose. Because he is a defenseman, Kronwall will probably never get credit. However, he gets my vote as MVP in the event the Wings win. Orpik has had a similar effect upon some of the Wings. It is what the Pens need to do.
