Flyers close the Spectrum Doors

The Flyers beat the Hurricanes, 4-2, in the last game for the Flyers in the Spectrum. The Flyers had a very classy tribute to the Spectrum which included the introductions of 11 past captains. After each captain was introduced, Ed Snider presented Mike Richards his new jersey with the “C” on it. Richards shook all the previous captains’ hands.

“It was nice to play in the Spectrum,” Richards told Steve Coates in a postgame interview. ”There’s so much tradition, so many hockey games, so many battles that the Flyers won here. It’s nice to finally play on the surface, and having the captains here was pretty special for me.”

Rangers Adjust to Overseas Travel

The Rangers arrived in Bern, Switzerland on Sunday. The 8 hour flight left directly after the Rangers vs. Devils pre-season game on Saturday. The Rangers first practice was 3 PM on Sunday at PostFinance Arena.

“It was tiring,” goaltender Henrik Lundqvist said of the Day One practice, “But it was really good that we got out there and got a really good practice in. We’ll all be exhausted tonight, but that’s good so we can get to bed early and not stay out too long and get used to the time zone here.
