The Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Lightning twice over the weekend, 2-1 and 2-1, to obtain 4 out of 4 points.
“To come this far and to get four out of four points, it doesn’t mean much now, but to start the season like that we’ll take it,” Rangers alternate captain Scott Gomez said. “I’m sure the plane ride will be fun. It’s always fun when you win.”
Flyers bond at the US Military Academy
The Flyers took part in team building exercises at the US Military Academy. The Flyers started the day by classroom-type exercises and ended with outside exercises.
“It’s a great opportunity to have some fun with the guys and put them through some situations where they need to learn the value of teamwork,” said coach John Stevens. “Not that we don’t already, but it kind of puts it into practice.”
Isles will rock out their home opener.
The Isles will have Seven Mary Three perform a pre and post game concert on a stage that will be suspended above the ice at the Nassau Coliseum. The band will also perform 2 songs during the intermissions.
