The Nashville Predators can’t buy a break at this point.

First the team is forced to sell off its top-end talent. Then threats of moving to Canada strike. Now Steve Sullivan is told he will miss a significant portion of the upcoming season.

According to TSN.ca, Sullivan, whose season ended February 22, will undergo a second back operation in just two months.

As a result, he will miss at least the first three months of the 2007-08 season.

Sullivan, 33, played in 58 games last season, recording 22 goals and 38 assists for 60 points and a plus-16 rating. He also tallied 23 powerplay points and four shorthanded points.

His absence will be a sharp blow to a team with a void of talent.
