FSN Pittsburgh just did an interview with Petr Sykora in which he discussed why Sid was sitting out tonight. He said that it was so that Crosby would be as healthy as possible when it comes playoff time. Specifically he said that he has lost too many game sevens because people were not playing at the height of their game. He also said that he expected Hossa to return on Sunday. Sykora also will be playing tonight now.

Conklin will get the start. He has a .980 save percentage and .065 GAA against the Sabres.

Therrien said that the first line will be:
Malone – Malkin – Sykora

    The Pens made a classy move as Ryan Malone, a hometown boy, thanked the crowd over the PA system for their support this season.
