Penguins Lose Another Forward

Georges Laraque has been suspended for three games. The NHL handed down the suspension following an elbowing incident on March 12. Though the Penguins may regain the services of Marian Hossa and possibly Sidney Crosby, this is another blow to the depth of the team.
If Hossa and Crosby do not return, an emergency recall may have to be made. Filewich would be a likely candidate. If this is the case, the line will probably resemble those from the Sabres game.
Malone – Malkin – Sykora
Dupuis – Staal – Kennedy
Ruutu – James – Taffe
Minard – Stone – (Filewich)
Crosby’s plan was to return on Sunday. Petr Sykora also talked as if Hossa would return then. If they do return, no recall will be necessary and the lines will likely look something like this:
Malone – Malkin – Sykora
Hossa – Crosby – Dupuis
Taffe – Staal – Kennedy
Ruutu – James – Minard
Ryan Stone would likely be scratched or sent back to Wilkes-Barre.

You know, I know your point is another forward lost. But I’m getting more and more angry when I think of the suspension to Georges, but none to Pronger? This league is getting out of hand when it comes to being consistent with duscipline. It’s not like Georges even HAD INTENT to injure. He did not. Pronger MOST definitely DID. If Georges got 3 games, I’m saying Pronger should have at least 30.
Ok, nuff said on that…
hopefully Sid and Hossa will be back on Sunday!

Dabich, if you look at Laraque’s suspension on an individual basis, it is logical that he recieved three games. His elbow was up for several steps before he reached the skater, but it was clear there was no intent there. So I can live with three games.
However, when you look at what Pronger did — a vicious act with intent to injure — and you see he got nothing, it makes me mad Laraque got anything at all.
Pronger’s stomp was as bad as, if not worse than, Simon’s stomp, yet Simon get’s 30 and Pronger gets nothing? That’s the biggest joke I have ever seen.

I know Matt! That’s what I was saying…and I’m not upset that the leauge gave Georges a suspension, I’m upset that it’s “OK” for Pronger to be a vicious moron and get nothing!
I still say the Canucks should petition the league to do something about it, it’s totally ridiculous. Go to The Commish if necessary.
