Crosby to Return Monday Night? Don't Count On It

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that Sidney Crosby may return to the line-up as early as Monday. However, Crosby did not sound very confident in that prognosis. When asked if he would be playing on Monday, Crosby responded, “You never know. It could always happen.”

That quote makes it seem unlikely that he would return tomorrow. It is more likely that Sidney will return on Thursday against the Islanders. He also may hold off until the nationally televised game against the Rangers on Sunday.

His lack of assertiveness is evidence of a lack of confidence in the ankle which would more than likely keep him out on Monday and Tuesday. However, once “The Kid” returns he has given evidence that we can expect a good show. He has said that he expects to find chemistry right away with Marian Hossa.

I’d much rather he be 100% (or close to it,) than re-aggravate things. Wait till you’re ready, Sid!

It looks like that will be the case. He is not going to play tonight.
