The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that Marian Hossa’s injury, while undisclosed, is not serious.
Hossa was knocked out of last nights game against the Islanders when he collided with Sean Bergenheim.
By all accounts, Hossa is expected to play this Sunday against the Rangers.
He has still not completed a full game alongside Sidney Crosby since being traded to Pittsburgh.

Well, that’s inconclusive, but so far so good.

Anyone else find his two injuries last night laugh out loud funny (as in Murphy’s law)?
It looked like his bell got rung. Hopefully he has no symptoms today, and he seemed coherant enough laying on the ice. We probably won’t know the real extent until after the playoffs.

Nathan – Murphy’s Law indeed. I believe my reaction was somewhere along the lines of, “You have got to be kidding me,” with a few choice words added.

I texted my friend (who was at the game, and I wasn’t cause I couldn’t take the free ticket he offered me…no I’m not bitter…) with a message that said, ‘Just how unlucky can we be?’ Good to kow he’s ok. I think he drew it out a little cause he didn’t want to be a target anymore. Good for him, it’s kinda putting the team first, right?

He is obviously a target for cheap shots, particularly the 2 shots to his knees he has taken and the head blow he got with the butt end of the stick 2 games ago. Crosby also gets cheap shotted all the time. I am all for hard hits and fights but if you can’t beat a team without cowardly cheap shots then take the loss like a man. This isn’t backyard kid stuff, they are supposed to be professional athletes.
