According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Penguins defenseman Ryan Whitney’s surgically repaired left wrist is at 100 percent.
This good news comes roughly one month prior to the start of training camp.
“I am to the point where I have the same strength in my left wrist that I do my right,” Whitney said in an interview with Penguins beat writer, Rob Rossi. “I can do everything I normally would, which is a relief. Dr. Buterbaugh said that I have a good range-of-motion and that I am ready to go.”
The 25-year-old Whitney is entering his second full NHL season and has a legitimate NHL contract worth $24 million over the next six years.
Last season Whitney emerged as one of the league’s premier offensive defenseman, scoring 14 goals and 45 assists in 81 games. He also racked up a plus-nine rating and 77 penalty minutes.

That’s good to hear because the Pens will need him to be in top form this season.

Ashley ~ you got that right! I look for Whitney to be a major influence on the ice this season. Bring him back, and bring it on!
