Summary
The offensive production wasn’t quite what the Pittsburgh Penguins would have hoped for against a poor Atlanta Thrashers team, but their three goals were enough to get the regulation win.

Dany Sabourin made 21 saves, including several beauties to backstop his team to yet another win, and their point streak extends to eight games.

Though the offense may not have been as high-powered as projected, both teams had several solid opportunities, and on several occasions the teams exchanged odd man breaks in succession.

Both teams went one for four on the power play, but the Penguins waited until just under three minutes remaining to pot their goal as Petr Sykora deflected a Sidney Crosby shot for the game winner.

Well it wasn’t the prettiest win against a band team, but I’ll take it, and the points. Crosbys’ goal falling down was kind of rad.

Go boys! A win is a win.
It was kinda bittersweet to see Colby and Christensen :/

Take the 2 points and get out of town.

Sabu played well. Pens generated good chances, Atlanta’s goalie was on top of his game.

On to Vancouver and Mr. Luongon…

Any idea how long MAF is out of the lineup?

Ryan, we’re looking at early next week as a best case scenario. Talk was that he might play tomorrow, but that was ruled out during last night’s pre-game show.

I love watching Sid when he is on top of his game. Last night was a dominant performance by him…

anybody know if there were any scouts or anyone talking to kovalchuk or if there is any blockbuster trade happening at all any time soon. i still think they need someone else on crosbys wing. but if you look at the team last year ,they dint get hossa till the end .so saying that i think they are a way better team this year compared to last season at this point. i just hope they do make some kind of big move this year or they wont improve much more.

No scouts that I know of. And don’t count on something too big, as they don’t have much cap room to work with.
