Inside The Game

As Jesse Marshall reported earlier today, the Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forwards Chris Mindard and Janne Pesonen, as Mike Zigomanis and Tyler Kennedy suffered injuries last night; however, the Penguins’ website indicates Zigomanis are probable for tonight’s game, while Kennedy is out.

So, with two more injuries to add to their growing list, the Penguins will look to put yesterday’s shootout loss to the New York Rangers behind them.

Fortunately, the Hurricanes have been in a slump of late, winning just four of their previous 10 games, which led to the firing of tenured coach Peter Laviolette and the hiring of Paul Maurice.

To add to their woes, the Hurricanes have an injury list as impressive as the Penguins’, which also includes an injured starting goaltender.

With that being said, tonight’s Staal brother battle also may be dubbed the battle of the back-ups.

Note: These line combinations are from the Penguins’ website, which also says Kennedy is definitely out and Zigomanis is probable for tonight’s game.

Justin Williams is probably going to return to the lineup tonight for the Canes.

Zigomanis should also make the game. I’m not sure what else that means.

Watching FSN right now. They said that Ziggy, TK, and Justin Williams are all out. Don’t know if that’s definite, but that’s what Bob Errey and Stan Savran are saying.
