The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced that forward Tyler Kennedy, injured in Wednesday’s game against the New York Rangers, will miss the next four to six weeks while recovering from a knee injury.

The injury, being classified as a sprain, has resulted in Kennedy being placed on injured reserves.

Chris Minard, who filled in for him last night, is the likely candidate to play on the third line in Kennedy’s absence, though it wouldn’t be surprising if several players, including Max Talbot and Pascal Dupuis, are used on that line.

Luckily this team is full of pluggers. Too bad for Kennedy, he was coming into his own nicely…

TK will be missed but if last night is any indication, Minard will fill the spot just fine.
