TSN.ca is reporting that Canadian forward Angelo Esposito will be unable to participate in next week’s under-20 Super Series against Russia due to a groin injury.
The 18-year-old forward was drafted 20th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, and will not be replaced on Team Canada’s roster.
There is no word yet on how severe the injury is and how long it will keep Esposito out of Penguins training camp, if at all.

As I said in response to a similar comment attached to another story, I wouldn’t be too worked up. Players often get injuries during their offseason workouts. Espo is working hard to prove he is worthy of sticking in the NHL, and injuries are bound to happen during such rigorous training. Now, if he doesn’t let it heal and allows it to nag him, then we have something to worry about.
