1. Jaromir Jagr v. 5 Syl Apps, Jr. – Apps was a legend in his own time and paved the way to some of the early successes of the Penguins. That said, this task is daunting. Can Apps overcome one of the best players to suit up for the Stanley Cup Penguins?

2. Larry Murphy v. 3. Kevin Stevens – Offense versus defense. Stevens provided a bruising presence on the wing and scored some monster goals. Murphy provided solid two-way play, and set-up some monster goals. This one is a coin-flip!

    Great idea – once it’s over, could we place the results o our blog as well? Thanks in advance.

    For sure. Not a problem at all.

    Very surprised on these results. Stevens was a great player but Gonchar has done much more. Kovalev/Murphy was about the toughest to decide. I had to give the edge to Kovalev, just because he did everything when he was here.

    How did you determine the seeding?

    This is a really good idea, but I’m really confused as to what criteria I’m supposed to be voting on.

    @Lateharvest, you have to decide your own criteria. The result should be who you think is or was a better Penguin.

    @TheOneandOnlySurge

    I can deal with that. That’s definitely the reason there are surprising results.

    The seeding doesn’t seem nearly as random now as it did to me earlier either.

    It may or may not be somehow based on statistics…but it does make more sense than I originally gave it credit for. I was thinking more even match-ups…not so much a seeded ranking. My bad on that one.

    Why did Apps pass Binkley if the votes were 221 to 86 in favor of Binkley?

    @Shlim, the totals were entered backwards. Our apologies.
