1. Sidney Crosby vs. 3. Joey Mullen

Crosby, the youngest captain in team history, has the daunting task of erasing Slippery Rock Joe’s goal-scoring prowess. Both of these forwards were dynamic in their own way. Who advances?

1. Jaromir Jagr vs. 3. Kevin Stevens

Jagr has Rich Pilon’d every opponent in this tournament. Is Kevin Stevens next? Or can Artie grind his way to the final four?

1. Ron Francis vs. 2. Paul Coffey

The legendary match of defensive minded center versus offensive minded defenseman. This one will be a tooth and nail battle. It’s up to you to decide who was more pivotal.

1. Evgeni Malkin vs. 2. Tom Barrasso

Barrasso back-stopped the Penguins to 2 Stanley Cup finals and has swept through this tournament thus far. Does Geno have the wherewithal to destroy Tommy B’s legend?

These finials are great. The only upset I could see would be Tommy B over Geno. But we will just see where things go from here.

I don’t really see Barrasso over Malkin as an upset. Barrasso won 2 cups for Pittsburgh over 12 seasons.

It’s been said many times…use your own criteria…

But as much as I like/respect Geno, the only thing he’s actually won is the Calder…which Barrasso also won. I’m sure Malkin will accumulate a more compelling resume, but in his 3rd season, his accomplishments are almost nothing compared to Barrasso’s.

is there a reason mario’s name isn’t in there?

If he was in the running he would win hands down, thus he is left off I assume.

yeah, he’s excluded from the competition.

It’s like when playboy was ranking party schools a few years back and excluded wvu because they “are a professional in a contest of amateurs”.

I’m gonna have to go with Jagr winning it all.

As others have mentioned, Lemieux has been omitted to keep it fair for every other player in franchise history.

@Lateharvest, I agree Tommy B should win hands down. I was just saying all others would simply or should simply go to the higher ranked player. Nothing against Geno but Tommy B was one of the best goalies of all time and he played some very important years here in Pittsburg.
