The Parade of Champions
Matt Bodenschatz | Pittsburgh Penguins

There’s not much more to say about yesterday’s Stanley Cup parade, featuring the Pittsburgh Penguins, other than that it was absolutely amazing.
During games, fans rarely get to interact with players in a personal way. But, as the players, coaches, and executives processed down the Boulevard of the Allies, it was clear they were celebrating with the fans, not in front of them.
It’s an experience I never will forget, and I have plenty of photos to make sure it stays fresh in my mind.
Enjoy, and if you have photos of your own, we would love to give you an opportunity to share them with the Faceoff-Factor community!
And here is the video footage that Jesse Marshall and Frank Murgia took yesterday atop the Parking Garage on the Boulevard of the Allies.

From someone that wasn’t able to make it in person (damn company has this policy that says something about work being more important than the Penguins, what do they know, Right?), thank you for sharing these. At least my fiance was cool enough to order the DVD from WPXI for me as a surprise.

@Nate, glad you enjoyed them — and you’ve got one hell of a fiance! I too ordered the DVD. I want to preserve the memory.
@Tom, thanks for bringing this up. I was planning on writing about it today, but didn’t get around to it. I still might, yet, but I’m not sure. Regardless, I think this is exactly as you say: bitter losers. Crosby was caught up with the media and was being pulled in every direction. Big deal.

I agree with you Tom, and Matt. And it shows poor taste on Draper’s part and any other Wing who makes a big deal of it. Who is the crybaby now?
I gotta order that DVD!!!

wpxi.com is where I got mine. The direct link is http://wpxi.justpayhalfonline.com/index.php?index_type=promo-detail&pid=80579.
There’s also a DVD outlining the entire season with an expected release date of July 7 (or maybe 9). It will chronicle the season beginning at training camp and ending with the parade. Can’t wait for that one!

I’m watching a parade replay on KDKA on Comcast On Demand. There was funny scene caught by KDKA’s chopper when the care with Malkin was loading up. You could see Malkin’s dad get in without much trouble, but then you see them lower the tailgate for Malkin’s mom. But did her son help her up? Nope, that was left to Sarge and his bad knee. LOL!

@Pens, good stuff. He really seems like he is flighty/absent-minded more often than not.
