End Of Season Thank You’s

Jesse Marshall | Pittsburgh Penguins

Jun 16, 12:21 PM | Hype this story!

Just when we thought last year’s run couldn’t be any more memorable, we get this one.

As fans of the Pittsburgh Penguins, we are truly blessed to be able to witness talent like this on a nightly basis.

It wasn’t that long ago that the Penguins were the doormat of the NHL. Look at how far we’ve come.

I wanted to take a moment to extend thank you’s to the following individuals.

- First off, thanks to the readers and commenters of FF. When Matt and I started this site, it was to create a place where we could generate and be a part of good hockey discussion. This site has become what we dreamed of, and it’s thanks to you guys and girls that have it bookmarked at home and work. You are what makes this rewarding, and without your readership and participation, we’d have no reason to do this.

- Thanks to RJ Ackerman of Lets Go Pens. FF was created by members of LGP and grown by members of LGP. RJ has a huge hand in what has happened with this site. RJ, I cannot thank you enough.

- Thanks to Josh Townson for the great web design and for always being on top of our technical trouble even when he’s an ocean away. Cheers, Josh.

- Thanks to Derek and Adam of The Pensblog. Being able to have a hand in Rinkotology was awesome and the most fulfilling part of the season from my standpoint.

- Thanks to Brian Metzer of Hockeybuzz. Metzer is not only a personal friend of mine, but the unsung hero of the blogging universe. Thanks for all the links, roundtables, and podcasts that you’ve had us on.

- Thanks to the hardest working man on the internet, Seth Rorabaugh of Empty Netters

- Thanks to Sean Leahy of Puck Daddy

- Thanks to our new friend Chris Gates at Pittsburgh Puck Talk

- Not many people were able to look at the big picture this year, but Tecmo from PSAMP held it down all season long.

- Thanks to Tony Ferrante at The Confluence. Congrats on a big and successful move this season.

- Thanks to Hooks Orpik at Pensburgh. If you haven’t visited his site yet, go do it.

- Thanks to Ian Altenbaugh of Hockeys Future for being a great scouting partner.

Finally, thanks to the staff and writers at Faceoff-Factor.

If there is ANYONE that I missed, I apologize. I’m doing this under a time constraint. We appreciate everyone that’s ever worked with us or contributed to our site in any way.

We look forward to more discussion with you guys over the summer and into next year!

I second everything Jesse said above. This has been a great season to be a fan, and I am priveleged to have been able to chronicle the events for all of our loyal readers!

And, as Jesse said, thanks to everyone from the readers to our fellow bloggers, and of course, thanks to the Penguins!

Lastly, as a thank you, we have ordered FF t-shirts to be distributed to the 10 commenters who have contributed the most this past season. All of you were notified last month, and I am happy to say the shirts are in — they’re awesome, by the way — and they will be shipped shortly!

And we, the commentors, want to thank all of you for putting up the site and keeping it running, but also providing us with analysis articles and editorial type pieces that evoke discussion among fans. It’s always good to have a site with thoughtful commentors instead of the normal comment sites. Only 2.5 weeks til the draft!

Thank to all you guys who write for and run F-F. It’s a real pleasure to have a site where you can get real discussions among true hockey fans! (It’s also great to be able to comment without having to register and I hope you retain that feature.)

Like I said the other day, this is always my first stop in the morning. You guys always have the information us Pens fans need to start our day.

Wow, what a ride this season, let’s all pray for many, many more like this one (perhaps without that Jan.-Feb. part).

I hope this site continues to grow as it has been, and I’ll be sure to be here often to do my part.

    Thanks to all!

Thanks for the great fodder, all the time Jesse. I have read every letter of FoF before the local papers even come to mind. Keep up the outstanding and varied perspectives and slants!

Kudos to you, Matt and Jesse. You do a terrific job. This is the best hockey blog on the planet thanks to the writers as well as the commenters. I always start my day with you. I hear that Lord Stanley follows your site, too!

A big thank you from an italian Pens fan!
I’ve discovered FF a few months ago and it instantly became one of my favourite sources for Pens news, filled with interesting and funny articles (without those flame wars you can see everywhere else).
I’ve always been lurking here without writing any comment (not sure my english is good enough lol), but I’m here to show my support and my appreciation for the great job you guys keep doing!

Here’s to a great summer, in the swimming pool with Lord Stanley!

Thanks, all! The kind words and the dedication you all have to FF are much appreciated!

LuckyLuciano, your English is just fine. Now you have no excuse not to join in on the conversations!

Thanks to you, Jesse, and everyone else at FF. You’re part of the reason me and Dan started PPT. I really appreciate you including me on roundtables and whatnot this year.

Can’t wait til training camp in September. Until then, enjoy your summer.
