Per a Pittsburgh Penguins press release:
“Pittsburgh Penguins coach Dan Bylsma received a call today from President Barack Obama, who congratulated Bylsma and the Penguins on winning the Stanley Cup.
“‘To hear from the President of the United States, and have him congratulate our team on this accomplishment, is such an incredible honor that I’m almost speechless,’ Bylsma said.
“‘President Obama is dealing with so many important issues facing the country and the world. It says a lot about him that he would take the time to place that call. It is a highlight I will never forget.’”

And, the Pens got invited to visit the WH, too. :)
Just out of curiousity, does the Canadian Prime Minister invite the Stanley Cup champs to visit his residence? Since Canada is a member of the British Commonwealth, how cool would it be to be invited to meet the Queen of England?

I read somewhere that Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, had called Crosby in the locker room to congratulate him. Hockey is a Canadian sport and that’s why I’m curious if there are an official functions honoring the Stanley Cup champs in Canada.
