According to a KDKA TV report, the Pittsburgh Penguins have offered a 1 year, ~$3 million dollar contract to RW Bill Guerin.
In an article written yesterday by Rob Rossi, Shero said he was looking to hear back from Guerin on a contract offer.
Shero said, “More likely (on) Monday we’ll look to see if we can finalize something for Billy.”
Rossi said Shero is confident “he wants to come back.”
Ruslan Fedotenko is also expected to receive an offer from the Penguins before the free agency period begins July 1st. He is expecting a multi-year deal.
Rob Scuderi is also looking for a multi-year deal but has said he would give Pittsburgh the last chance at signing him.
Scuderi said in an article by Ron Cook,
“By far, the best situation for me is staying in Pitt,” he said. “I know how I fit in here. I know my role. And I want to be a part of another winner. Just because we won this year doesn’t mean I’m going to shut it down. I want to win again. I know they can do that here for a long time. With the young core they have — especially the centermen — and the system they have and the way they run the organization, it’s hard to imagine them not having long-term success.”
“We’ll see what happens,” Scuderi said. “I told Ray in our exit meeting that I’d give Pitt the last shot. I’ll take him the offer I’m most comfortable with and say, ‘How close can we get?’ “

WOW! $3M for Guerin seems high given the extremely limited cap room.
