Alrighty, then. A PP goal for, a SH goal against. So, the PP still sucks. And I don’t get what HCDB was talking about when he said Engelland was a bit ahead of Guenin in camp before they signed Skoula. Guenin won that competition, but Engelland is Bylsma’s boy, so there you go.

I was rather happy with Guenin’s play last night. Actually, all the newbies are doing ok, not perfect, but still not bad.

I was also happy with Guenin’s play. I seem to remember him having a pretty nice takeaway in front of net, and in the Pens end he didn’t seem to hesitate putting the puck on the net. I was actually surprised by his shot.

To be honest, I have been impressed with both Guenin and Engelland equally. Lovejoy has been okay, but the other two appear to be ahead of him in terms of being NHL ready/capable.
If nothing else, this stretch of injuries reassures us that the defensive depth the Penguins have is just as strong as it was one year ago when Phillipe Boucher was riding the pine and Goligoski was in the minors. Overall, the defense man not be as good without Scuderi and Gill on the PK, but the depth is just as good, if not better.

Heh heh heh. I was grouchy after that shorthanded goal against last night. Staal’s shorty changed the game. Funny, what HCDB said about Staal, I was starting to think the same thing.

HCDB knows how to tweak his guys…he can get them to do more than they think they CAN do…gotta love it!
Pucks, that’s an evil laugh you have there ;)
