According to the Pittsburgh Penguins web site, defensemen Derek Engelland and Ben Lovejoy have been returned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton “Baby” Penguins of the AHL, paving the way for the return of Kris Letang and Alex Goligoski.
Jay McKee is expected to return Thursday against Colorado.
There still is no word yet on winger Tyler Kennedy, who was touted as being nearly ready earlier this week and had a weekend target return date.

Easily, letang skoula, and goligoski are better and with the exception of letang, not on two way deals.

Those guys were getting minutes b/c they were the only warm bodies available.
I’m sick of Steigy talking about Skoula like he’s the second coming of Paul Coffey.
Engelland, Lovejoy, and Guenin were even less good. Guenin, in particular, was doubleplusungood.
The team plays MUCH better w/ the regulars in the lineup and that showed last night.

@Tom, point taken, but they were casualties of numbers. Would you rather the Pens trade away their proven NHLers (and depth) to accommodate two rookies who have been good, but not amazing?
I was very happy with the results of Engelland and Lovejoy, but the fact is, they are 8 and 9 on the depth chart, making them the first to be demoted, regardless of play. They understand this and know that, if they want a permanent spot in the lineup, they must continue their strong play so they find their way up again.
