Hey if you guys don’t think Tyler Kennedy and especially Tim Brent are competing for a spot on this roster you are crazy. It would not surprise me in the least if Brent was on the opening day roster

Bryan, Brent was a slip on my part, an oversight, if you will. Kennedy, on the other hand, was not a mistake. While he has a chance at making the team, I don’t see him as someone who is among the most likely. We’ll put it this way, there are a lot of players ahead of him that he would have to outplay in order to make the team.

    Thanks for the comments!

Lucky you, Matt, going to camp to see it all.

I sure am — and I might put up a story Saturday about my experience: what I saw, which players impressed, which did not, etc. Nothing is guaranteed, though.

I don’t think that Espo will make the Pens team out of camp this year (which seems to be the general consensus), though he will try to have a Staal-like year. The Pens have so much depth up front, especially at centre, that Espo will be much better off in Québec this season. I wouldn’t be surprised if Patrick Roy put Espo on the wing to help him develop into a more versatile forward – which will definitely help him in Pittsburgh.

By the way, great job on the entire Penguins Camp Package – if there was a vote, I’d say ‘yes’ to making it a yearly thing.

And have fun at camp! Should be quite a show.

Thanks for the compliments and comments Ashley. I tend to side with you on the Esposito issue. He’s likely on his way back. Then again, we all assumed the same with Staal. The one thing against Espo right now is his groin injury. He has been set back and groin injuries tend to nag if not healed properly.

Anyway, I’ll certainly enjoy camp and should have some sort of a story and, if not thing else, a set of pictures.

Roster Update: The roster has been updated to include Tyler Kennedy as a potential NHL candidate. I seemed to be getting some slack for neglecting him, but was set on keeping him as is until I saw him at camp today. He’s got skills. I will elaborate in my camp review to be published shortly.
