I still don’t understand why they took Staal off of Malkin’s line. I thought it was working great. Anyone recall why they made the switch?

Three of your lines then have good centers.
In hockey, just like baseball, you strive to have your strength up the middle. In baseball, that is your C, 2B, SS, & CF. In hockey that is your centermen, blueliners and goalie.
Despite his two most glaring weaknesses—faceoffs & a lack of self discipline that leads to untimely penalties—C Geno Malkin is still head and shoulders above Adams, Letestu or any other forward—other than Sid and Jordan, of course—who would have to center the 3rd or 4th line.

Nice to see Kunitz get a couple of goals. Another 2 games, then a 2 week break and he should be good to go for the playoffs.
Thought Letang played very well, too.

“Thought Letang played very well, too.”
Darn well! He’s really, really improving.
And Kunitz will score more too…he’s healthy.
