The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that Penguins forward Maxime Talbot will miss at least a week of action due to an ankle sprain sustained during yesterday’s practice.

There is no word yet on who will replace him in the lineup, though it would appear that Adam Hall will shift from his role as third line right wing to fourth line center.

In 20 games this season, Talbot has five goals and four assists for nine points. He also has the team’s only two shorthanded goals, one of which came Saturday night off of a Sidney Crosby pass.

It would be nice to see this help Kennedy get back in the lineup. My best case scenario would be Kennedy and Armstrong back, and Recchi out.

I can see why Armstrong’s been sat for a few games, maybe not all of them, but Kennedy out of the lineup for Recchi really made me wonder. Recchi really made Therrien look good when he bobbled and lost the puck while stickhandling, twice (that I noticed).

I think Kennedy’s been exactly what he should be, and actually puts some speed on the ice for the Penguins. Please play him.

I agree. Kennedy should be in the lineup on a nightly basis. And, if he isn’t then he should be in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. It’s that simple.
