Tonight, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Penguins look to take a demanding lead on the series against the Philadelphia Phantoms. After losing game 1, the Pens have battled back to win their last two games in a row, and currently lead the series 2-1.
D Alex Goligoski extended his scoring streak to seven games after he scored 3rd goal of the playoffs in game 3. Goligoski is the highest scoring defensemen in the AHL. With his 12 points (3 g, 9 a) he is also 2nd in the league in points.
The Pens also have the league leader with 13 points, and that is F Tim Brent. Brent has 7 goals and 6 assists so far in only 8 playoff games.
If the Baby Pens can start out with a great lead, as they are carrying over some huge momentum, the series could possibly be in hand. After tonight, the Pens will play the Phantoms in game 5 at home, this friday night. If the Pens have a 3-1 series lead after tonight, it could spell the end for the tough Philadelphia Phantoms team.
Starting goaltender John Curry is expected to start for the Penguins again. Curry has played in every one of the playoff games so far this year. He’s put up impressive numbers for a rookie with a 2.47 GAA and a .910 save percentage. His record is 6-2.
