Summary

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Penguins lost to the Portland Pirates in game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. With the series tied at 1-1, the Pens play the next three games in Portland.

The Penguins gave up a 2-0 lead to start again, which could hurt them in the long run. The last two series they were able to put up a decent amount of comebacks, but the Pirates took the decision in game 2.

At 17:11 in the 2nd period, LW Luca Caputi found C Nathan Smith in the slot, who roofed the puck past goaltender Jean-Sebastien Aubin.

Oddly enough at 17:11 in the 3rd period, Smith scored his 2nd goal of the game and 5th of the playoffs after putting in a rebound from D Alex Goligoski’s slap shot.

The Pens would fall one goal short, and weren’t able to score after pulling G John Curry to get on the extra attacker. The Pens lost by a final score of 3-2.

John Curry picked up the loss tonight, and stopped 17 shots out of 20.

The Penguins and Pirates are now tied in the series at 1-1, and look to play game 3 in Portland, at 4:05 EST on Sunday.
