Summary

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Penguins defeated the Portland Pirates by a final score of 4-3, yesterday in game 4. Tonight the Pens take on the Pirates in game 5 in Portland, again.   

C Nathan Smith started off the scoring when he scored his 6th goal of the playoffs only 2:24 into the opening period.

At 13:49 in the 2nd period, D Deryk Engelland roofed home his 1st goal of the playoffs. Engelland was named the first star of the game. He completed the Gordie Howe Hat Trick, with a goal, an assist, and a fight against Portland’s Jay Leach.

RW Connor James would go on to score his 5th goal of the playoffs, on the powerplay.

D Ben Lovejoy scored his 1st career playoff goal with the man advantage, at 6:20 in the 3rd period. The Pirates would come back to score one more goal, so Lovejoy’s goal was the eventual game winner.

G John Curry picked up the win after making 22 saves on 25 shots.

The Penguins and Pirates are now tied in the series at 2-2, and look to play game 5 in Portland, at 7:05 EST, tonight.
