Summary

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Penguins lose to the Portland Pirates 2-1, and fall behind in the series 3-2.

Former Penguin and now current Pirate, C Stephen Dixon came back to haunt the Pens as he tallied the only 2 goals for the Pirates, giving them the big win.

The Pens loan goal would come from RW Jonathan Filewich, who was fresh off the injury list. It was Filewich’s 1st goal of the playoffs.

On the post-game show on WBRE Sports, home team announcer Scott Stuccio talked about how defensive giveaways was the reason the Pens lost last night.

D Alain Nasreddine was responsible for both giveaways that Dixon took advantage of. The good news is that Nasreddine has signed a contract with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers and will transfer to the German team next season.

G John Curry picked up the loss, and made 22 saves on 24 shots taken.

The Penguins finally go home to Wilkes-Barre on Friday, and look to send the series to 7 games, and make their way to the AHL Calder Cup Finals.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE:

Game 6 — Friday, 7:05, May 23

Game 7 — Saturday, 7:05, May 24
