According to multiple sources, the Penguins have re-signed C David Gove and signed D Danny Richmond, acquired via trade for Tim Brent earlier this month.

Last year, Gove was acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes for underperforming LW Joe Jensen. The diminutive Gove provided quite an offensive spark while helping the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins reach the Calder Cup Finals. In the regular season, Gove played 36 games for the Baby Pens, scoring 15 goals and 7 assists. During the playoffs, he scored 5 goals and 7 assists in the 23 playoff games played.

Richmond, known as an offensively-skilled defenseman who likes to go for big hits, was a restricted free agent. His rights were acquired for the rights to restricted free agent C Tim Brent. Richmond has some NHL experience, which should help stabilize the young WBS blue-liners. In 7 games at the NHL level with the Chicago Blackhawks last year, Richmond was scoreless with two penalty minutes. In 40 AHL games with the Rockford Ice Hogs, Richmond scored 2 goals and 12 assists while collecting 156 penalty minutes.

Just read that head coach Richards has moved on to be the assisstant in San Jose. Any word or rumor on a replacement???? Seemed like it was a good fit in WB/S. Took a team with less talent and almost won a championship. Lets hope this is not a step backwards.
