| The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton "Baby" Penguins defeated the
Albany River Rats, 4-3 last night from the Wachovia Arena. The Penguins were sporting their new Christmas-themed jerseys which can be seen here, in a fight between Paul Bissonnette and Trevor Gillies. Ryan Whitney was in the line-up, wearing jersey number 16. He had one assist on Janne Pesonen’s power play goal. He was also a -1, with 1 shot on goal, and 2 penalty minutes. The story of the night was recent call-up Tommy Goebel. He has been working on a line with Adam Henrich and Bissonnette since he’s been promoted to the AHL. He had 2 goals, and was rewarded with the number one star of the game. Bissonnette added an assist, which extends his point streak to five games. John Curry, after getting off to a slow start this year, looks as if he’s back to his old self after spending some time in Pittsburgh. He stopped 25 of the 28 shots he faced. He even picked up an assist. The next game is Friday, December 26 against the Philadelphia Phantoms. |
