Inside The Game
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will take place in the only AHL game tonight, against the Hartford Wolf Pack. Obviously with the Pittsburgh Penguins being riddled with injury, the line-up in WB/S is depleted itself.

Hartford owns the league’s best powerplay, which cashes in 25% of the time!

Joey Haddad, Alex Grant, and Mitch Ganzak will all be making their AHL debuts tonight. T.J. Fox was also recalled from the ECHL (Wheeling).

The Pens will oppose former prospect goaltender Chad Johnson in net. John Curry goes for WB/S.

Projected Lines… (Update at 6:55)

  • Tangradi – Letestu – Caputi
  • Pushkarev – Jeffrey – Wallace
  • Brookbank – Vitale – Haddad
  • Boulerice – Sill – Boogaard/Fox

  • Strait – D’Aversa
  • Grant – Bortuzzo
  • Ganzak – Caffaro

  • Curry
  • Thiessen

Wow these guys are just as banged up as the big Pens and they are getting stripped of guys to play in the NHL...LOL

I’m slightly surprised WB/S hasn’t inked Thomas Beauregard to an AHL deal. He’s got ten goals (twice as many as anyone else in the Wheel), and WB/S is hurting for scoring. Of course, perhaps Beau doesn’t want an AHL deal as that would limit his callup possibilities. Still, the guy’s probably worth at least a PTO given the dearth of scoring in WB/S.

I hope Veilleux isn’t out long, he was starting to come on strong before he got hurt. Same arm/shoulder that kept him out for about half his last junior season.
